| I had four weeks to spend at a residency in Johnson, VT, and I chose to explore paper because of its maleability, affordability, and availability. I began making repetitive cuts and folds, and before I knew it I was filling my studio window with these tubes. Each one caught the light differently, and even up close, the light made a texture that looked like the surfaces of stones. I chose to call this piece "Fill" because I was not only filling a window space but also time. I decided not to fill the entire window because I felt that the viewer's imagination would complete the task. |
