     ​Unity Park is a 60-acre park located near downtown Greenville, SC. Prior to 2020 it was largely undeveloped, with some existing buildings serving as retail while others stood empty. My scope with CD+M was to provide lighting for the trails, play area, visitors center façade and interior, exterior performance stage, cultural wall, parking lot, drive lanes, and new bridge. During the design process, however, several features were removed for financial reasons and my scope was reduced to lighting the trails, play area, signage, parking lot, and drive lanes. Still, since the park’s opening in 2022, it has been a huge success with the community, and I was hired back through CD+M to design the lighting for an observation tower within the park. Construction on the tower will begin in 2024.
